  • Cook Time: 10–12 minutes
  • Total Time: 30–35 minutes
  • Servings: 4
  • Difficulty Level: Easy to Medium

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 500 grams (1 lb) boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

For the Coating:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crispiness)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

For Cooking:

  • Cooking spray or 1–2 teaspoons oil

Equipment Needed

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Tongs
  • Baking tray or plate
  • Parchment paper (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken (10 minutes, medium intensity)

Cut the chicken breast into evenly sized nugget pieces. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika, ensuring all pieces are evenly coated.

Intensity Level: Medium – requires cutting and seasoning.

Step 2: Set Up Breading Station (5–7 minutes, low intensity)

Prepare three bowls:

  1. Flour in the first bowl
  2. Beaten eggs in the second
  3. Breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese in the third

This setup helps create a crispy coating on the nuggets.

Intensity Level: Low – simple preparation step.

Step 3: Coat the Nuggets (10–12 minutes, medium intensity)

Dip each piece of chicken into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Press lightly to ensure the coating sticks well.

Place coated nuggets on a plate or tray.

Intensity Level: Medium – repetitive but straightforward process.

Step 4: Preheat the Air Fryer (2–3 minutes, low intensity)

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F). This ensures the nuggets start cooking immediately and develop a crispy exterior.

Intensity Level: Low – minimal effort required.

Step 5: Arrange the Nuggets (3–5 minutes, medium intensity)

Place the nuggets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.

Lightly spray or brush with oil for extra crispiness.

Intensity Level: Medium – requires proper spacing.

Step 6: Air Fry the Nuggets (10–12 minutes, high intensity)

Cook the nuggets for 10–12 minutes, flipping them halfway through. They should turn golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).

Keep an eye on them during the last few minutes to prevent overcooking.

Intensity Level: High – requires monitoring and timing.

Step 7: Rest and Serve (3–5 minutes, low intensity)

Remove the nuggets from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. This helps retain their juices and improves texture.

Serve hot with your favorite dips.

Intensity Level: Low – simple resting step.
