Italian Crescent Ring

This golden, cheesy, and savory ring is made with buttery crescent roll dough, stuffed with Italian meats, cheeses, and a touch of marinara, then baked to perfection. The aroma that fills your kitchen as it bakes is irresistible—think warm, melted cheese, savory Italian spices, and a hint of garlic.

Ingredients

8 oz thinly sliced salami
9 oz thinly sliced deli ham
6 slices provolone cheese cut in half
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup roasted red peppers sliced
½ cup pepperoncini rings
2 cans 8 oz each crescent roll dough
1 egg large, beaten
¼ tsp black pepper plus more for sprinkling
Italian seasoning for sprinkling

Method

Preheat & Prepare Pan:
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a large round pizza pan or line it with parchment paper.
Shape the Dough:
Unroll both cans of crescent roll dough and separate into individual triangles. Arrange the triangles in a circular pattern on the pan. The wide ends should overlap at the center, forming the inner circle, and the pointed ends should fan outward like the rays of a sun.
Prepare the Filling:
In a small bowl, combine the pepperoncini rings, roasted red peppers, and ¼ tsp black pepper. Stir to combine.
Assemble the Ring:
On the wide end of each dough triangle (near the center), place half a slice of provolone cheese. Layer the ham, then the salami, followed by the pepper mixture and shredded mozzarella.
Fold the Dough:
Fold the pointed ends of the dough over the filling and tuck them under the center circle, enclosing the ingredients completely.
Add Egg Wash & Seasoning:
Brush the top of the ring with the beaten egg. Sprinkle with additional black pepper and Italian seasoning to taste.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Serve:
Let the ring cool for a few minutes, then slice like a pizza and serve warm.
