Melt-in-Your-Mouth Banana Bread

Ingredients:

IngredientAmount
Unsalted butter, softened1 cup (2 sticks)
Ripe bananas, mashed3
All-purpose flour1 ¾ cups
Granulated sugar¾ cup
Eggs, beaten2
Vanilla extract1 teaspoon
Baking soda1 teaspoon
Ground cinnamon1 teaspoon
Salt½ teaspoon
Ground nutmeg¼ teaspoon
Chopped walnuts (optional)½ cup

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the Pan
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan to ensure easy release after baking.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly combined.

Step 3: Cream Butter and Sugar
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light, fluffy, and pale in color. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.

Step 4: Combine
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the mashed bananas.

Golden Rule: Mix just until combined. Overmixing can make the bread dense instead of tender.

Step 5: Add Nuts (Optional)
If using walnuts, gently fold them into the batter until evenly distributed.

Step 6: Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 7: Cool
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes to set, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
